Need pics of coolant filter plumbing

Recommended Posts

I have an ENDT 673 military and is has no coolant filter and I have had to pull and flush the rad and engine twice so far so I would like to install a coolant filter. Where are they installed and plumbed on civilian applications ? Pics would be great.

Thanks.

I doubt a coolant filter will help your problem. There is no filter media in them. They contain DCA and slowly add that to the coolant. You can get the same affect by testing the DCA, with test strips, each service with test strips and topping it up. Don't think that just dumping it in will fix the problem. too much is as bad as not enough.

There is a screen made for rust chunks.

I have a truck without a coolant filter and I am going to install one before the heater core.  NAPA has a filter base and various DCA filters.  Over the years, I have learned that heater cores make a great filters for crap in the system....

It doesn't cost anything to pay attention.
