Since I had the cab off thought  I would apply some lizard  skin to the inside firewall and under the cab floor. After reading the reviews on lizard skin grease ,oil ,fuel, U.V. and some chemicals cause it to lift unless top coated. Decided to try Eastwoods Heat & Sound Barrier coating 2 part catalyzed combination. Should help some.

I did Dynamat through out the inside of the cab, doors and floor. The only place I did not use is was under the firewall pad as that was already installed along with all of the pass throughs. It really helps with the heat and noise but would have been better to do firewall also I think.

I used the Dynmat Extreme which is only .067" thick. When rolled  out it follows all of the contours of the panel so it should not be a problem useing it on the firewall under the pad. It should make a big difference. On that subject, I was not able to get a good fit or seal around the clutch pedal. It would be interesting to see how others have done that.

I used Dynamat Extreme as well when I swapped in a 237. I did the whole firewall exterior and cowl areas. Silver side reflects a lot of engine heat. Doubled it up in the area of the turbo. I also covered the fiberglass intake tube that runs through the cab corner in it. A huge amount of turbo noise comes through that tube. Its amazingly quiet over the road, you can talk and hear in almost normal tones, turbo noise is very hushed. Stock floor mat with and extra layer of regular insulation on the floor. The B-73 I'm doing will get it on both sides of the firewall and floor.

I put dynamat on my floor, inside doors(sound solid when close them-- no ringing).  I then put a piece on the firewall before I put motor back in.  I removed the muffler now but the cab noise is very noticeably quieter.  I'm impressed.  Hardly any turbo whine also.  Taking a trip next week so I am curious how it will be on the big road.

Buy the Summit Racing brand and it is Dynamat(in a dynamat box)....only cheaper.  Summit racing does that on many items.

Anybody ever try this as a lower cost alternative? http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003TUNRGM/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=K1HH1OB1LY8D&coliid=IREAUSBPS1L35&psc=1 It is called FatMat and the users claim it is equivalent to Dynamat.
