The angled gauges are pretty slick!  I am really surprised about the tires also.  Around here tubeless tires were voodoo.

It seems that trailers were starting to get longer pin to corner swing clearance in that time period so maybe that was a factor in choosing the wheelbase?

Felt the need for a little Triplex therapy so I took the old '68 R607 out to get a drink.

I'd forgotten it had the angled dash guages. Yesterday when I stopped to visit,my friend's daughter gave my the museum packet for this truck and the '78 Valueliner that I bought from them. This truck was one of an order of 14 for General Transfering of Decatur,IL,sold by Glatz Truck & Trailer ,the Mack dealer in Decatur at the time. I found it interesting that they were ordered with tubeless 11:22.5 tires and also 165" wheelbase. Thought that sounded pretty long for a midwest freight hauler back then.

What would've gone in the big spot over by the fuel gauge?

that dash does look cool
