OK just trying to fulfill a lingering thought.  My 237 came from an apparent fire engine and had a single disc clutch bell housing.  Is that normal for a fire truck?  Did it run a lighter duty 5 speed then an R model?  Did they consider the fact it would not be pulling 73k lbs?

I talked to a fellow one time that claimed that there were 5 speed twin shaft transmissions for fire trucks versus the regular triple shaft.  I never checked it out to see if that was correct or not.

The sales engineer probably had different specs for a Maxidyne powered R rescue truck versus an R model water tanker.

It doesn't cost anything to pay attention.
