Axle issues have forced Mack to recall models sold between 2011 and 2014

Volvo Group Australia has recalled a number of Mack Granite and Trident models over axle issues.

According to an Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) notice, the affected vehicles, which were manufactured between September 2011 and April 2014, are equipped with Mack proprietary axles.

The notice says "the cap nut that retains the inter-axle driveshaft yoke to the rear axle input shaft may be subject to premature loosening."

"There is potential risk that if the nut comes off, the yoke can separate from the axle input shaft and cause the driveshaft to disconnect, posing an accident hazard to the driver and other road users."

Volvo says owners of the affected vehicles should take them to an authorised repairing dealer.

Note: This is the same issue as US market recall SC0399......... http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/topic/44531-mack-to-recall-over-25000-trucks/
