Have gotten a full scope of answers from non makers so I thought I'd ask here. Thanks ahead for all onfo. steeler Posted July 19, 2016 Share Posted July 19, 2016 Does the stick return to neutral but tranny status in gear? Or is the stick physically stuck in? Broken shift fork would be my first thought. BillyT Posted July 19, 2016 Share Posted July 19, 2016 I agree with the broken shift fork(or bent) ,but these kinda problems normally manifest themselves in a truck that has had a lotta hard use! If you haven't bought the truck already recheck it closely,maybe an oil analysis is in order! I will probably try to take top off and see what I can. cant find a manual for it either. on road now will be back at months end. br549 Posted July 21, 2016 Share Posted July 21, 2016 It's rare but I have seen the main shaft twist and lock it in gear and the fork gets broken trying to get out of gear. steeler Posted July 21, 2016 Share Posted July 21, 2016 ^ this. If the stick is physically stuck in gear, and not because it came up over the fork, then very well could be twisted mainshaft.
