I need a couple of the short strips myself.

The short strips are back cut and contoured on one end to nest against the "Mack" emblem.  My search indicates that they are unique and only apply to the ED and DE models.

It doesn't cost anything to pay attention.

Jim, I suppose a bit of file work would convert a common strip into such an unique one.

I am in the same deal.  I think making them out of brass stock may be the route to take.  It will be easy to work into shape and will be the perfect base metal for chrome plating.  Tap holes to attach from the back and it will work.

Before that, I have to do sheet metal repair, rebuild the engine and trans, wiring and paint and.........

I have some time to think about the strips!

I am on the same page with you. Other more pressing projects! Here is a screen shot from Hemmings and it looks like the ED or DE in the background is also in need of hood strips
