There's only a thermometer on the outside of the tank and if you try to look in the filler neck there's a baffle. 0 B MACK Posted August 15, 2016 Share Posted August 15, 2016 Yes, the thermometers I have seen are sight glasses also. The cold oil level should be in the lower half of tube. I have seen some older hydro tanks that have a small round sight glass and other tanks with no means of seeing the oil level other than looking in the filler hole.
