For a year or so it was on display at the Himes Museum of Auto Racing in Bayshore L.I..  With a rare V-8 60 in it.      Paul

Ed and older brother Fred Brunnhoelzl built the little rig in 1949 using cut down Dodge pickup truck frame rails, Dodge front axle and a Model A Ford rear axle, a modified Pontiac grill and a V8 60 flathead and a Ford transmission.

Here is a story about Steady Eddie.

Who bought it from himes museum on long island ?  If he only had it a couple years ? Where was it before? And who bought it it owns it now ?

Dave Merklin of Freeport had it for years in on of his garages. He died in 2015 and the family made sure  The Himes Collection got it. It was in sad shape from sitting for years and needed a lot of body work.

Dave was a bit eccentric. I went to his house to look at a 1938 Chevy coupe in 1991. He told me it had a brand new never run  late model six in it. It was new when he put it in in 1958 and that was the last hing he did on it. He also had a 1962 Econoline pick up in the garage he parked in 1964.
