Someone rebuilt mine, but then didn't tighten the pulley nut tight enough. It wobbled on the shaft, causing both the shaft and the pulley to become badly worn. The key way is mushroomed on the shaft and the pulley is no tapered inside. The seals are good, the bearings are good, but the pulley and shaft are bad. fxfymn Posted August 9, 2016 Share Posted August 9, 2016 It shouldn't be a big deal to have a machine shop re-create the shaft. If it is so bad that you don't think they can get accurate measurements you can get a shop drawing of the part from the museum for them to use.
