Is the White House trying to engineer a recession?

They keep saying the U.S. economy will experience a "period of transition". That sounds more and more like a planned recession.

During a recession, economic activity slows and unemployment rises. When consumers spend less, the demand for goods and services falls. Prices then drop and inflation falls.

And one may expect turmoil in the stock market, and possibly a crash (which is the ideal time to buy).

Creating a recession to fix the ills quickly is alike nuking a weed-filled yard with Round-up and reseeding to get a new yard in a short time frame, rather than using selective fertilizers for three years with incomplete results.

There is one theory out there That he is trying to get interest rates down with this tactic! Once its where he needs them for the the trillions in  debt payments ! Then he can get on with the other items on the shit list!  anyway you and read into anything what ever you want only Trump knows for sure what he's thinking and that can change on a dime! quite honestly what can you believe on line these days ! SIT BACK AND WATCH! If it starts effecting you unfavorably Then decide! the goal posts keep moving! Its like fixing a DPF problem! 🙄

Former Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross says:

“There’s tariff policy, tax reform, regulatory reform. Trump needs the whole package to work. He has a complicated mosaic that he has to put together and he’s got to get it done very quickly.
Ross is personally optimistic that the Administration is addressing issues that matter.
He’s also optimistic about the impact of Elon Musk, saying “I can’t wait until he gets to the IT environment. In Commerce, we had 72 different IT systems, no two of which could talk with each other and most of them were from the 70s and 80s. It’s the world’s largest service business that’s using archaic equipment. Musk, I’m sure, is going to address that but he’s wisely doing the easier things first. My own view is that he’s going to find far less corruption than he thinks but plenty of waste.”

A high-powered executive is warning that his business is about to slow down — all because he sees turbulence ahead for the U.S. economy.

John Dietrich, CFO of FedEx, just slashed the company’s earnings expectations for the rest of the year.

FedEx has a unique vantage point.

With shipping data that acts as a real-time pulse check on consumer demand and domestic trade, the company feels the impact of supply chain disruptions, retail slowdowns, and manufacturing shifts before most analysts can even crunch the numbers.

And now, the company is bracing for a slowdown in 2025.

'I think it’s reasonable to assume that the macro environment is not going to significantly improve, at least through the first half of fiscal 2026,' Dietrich said.

Deutsche Bank says the probability of the US entering a recession within the next 12 months has climbed to 43%.

Transport of goods has always been a principal indicator of the economy. Whilst this slow down/pause is to be expected, it is a reflection of all the population and organisations. The economy cannot run at top speed continuously, it needs to slow, weed out the problems (and crooks - DOGE) and reset. The MAGA reset is happening, there are going to be major readjustments, after the new economic foundations are laid, the nonsense from the woke left, etc is cleared, the majority will feel confident, the US economy will prosper and for many years. There are new technologies in the pipeline (not only AI) which will help transform the US and world economy with multiple benefits for all. Settlement of the middle east and Ukraine/Russia conflicts will also have positive outcomes.

Short term pain, long term gain.
