needed a shoe horn to get that motor in

starting to show some rot at the door bottoms

wonder if it runs like it should

how does the poor old girl breathe? No air cleaner.

My guess is the cooling fan arrangement next to the stack at the rear. Looks like the intake tube to the turbo elbows down in front. Along the frame rail to the back of cab?

I figured that was either for the AC or for extra cooling.

The only way to know for sure is somebody close needs to go look at it. There's a lot of good quality work done on that truck. There HAS to be an air filter can somewhere.

air filter can is under the hood on top of the rear head. you can see it in the pic with the turbo

when you are up to your armpits in alligators,

it is hard to remember you only came in to drain the swamp..

I'd like to have it myself or my DM but I really don't need it I don't plan on doing anything with the truck as far as weight but I'd like to put that 300 and just because it's easier to get parts bob

It didn't include any tip turbine?  Or maybe it was just not on the motor and laying separate?

I saw that air cleaner there but it doesn't appear to be connected to the turbo intake.

doh!!! i just noticed that too. i bet that air filter is for the aftercooler air, it looks like the air intake is under the passenger side fender.

285 and 300+ both have the side mounted intercooler. 300+ was a thermodyne, the 300 in that picture for sale is a 300 maxidyne  that was originally connected to a air cooler in front of the radiator. without it id imagine it would be a 250 I'm thinking?

If you look at the one engine shot, the turbo inlet air goes down under the fender panel.  If you look at the rear shot, you see a large black tube coming up by the a/c condenser on the passenger side.  I'm guessing the air cleaner is there somewhere.
