I'm told this is a good combo and it will pull better than the c12 430hp engines in our freightshakers. So I guess what I'm asking is, We shouldn't need to "turn it up" to compare the two right? The boss is worried that the 300 won't do the job as well. I said we can always give it a bump. After we see how it does.

It's tough to compare the two. The c12 most likely has a 13 or 18 speed behind it which would help it.

But if that 300 is running right, you will be staggered at how well it will pull. I have a 2v 300 and I'm blown away with how it performs.

If you show up with a motor thats 2 Liters smaller with a 130hp and  150-200lbs less torque and it pulls as good as  the c12 its  done its job.  I've seen some 300 pull very well and others not so much.  It'll come down to  rear gearing and  the fuel screw as to how well it performs
