I'm in the Midwest.  Does anyone know what the situation is with regard to California trucks and CARB regulations?  I have an interest in a low-mile, early-90s Mack in CA that may be coming up for auction.  Don't have many details but I was just wondering if a truck like that could even be legally run in CA or not.  I guess what I'm asking is should I expect there be much local competition for this truck?  Or is there low (no?) demand in CA for older, pre-emission trucks?  Are the older, mechanical trucks essentially damaged goods in California?  I thought I heard you couldn't run anything non-computerized out there.  Does anyone know the real scoop?  Thanks.

You should  have little completion at the auction here in "progressive Ca." Our next step will be to cap the stack.  The biggest problem is we are considered a leader in counter productive innovation and the rest of you will follow sooner or later .
