Hi everyone,

I'm new to this site so the questions I have may have already been answered before so I will apologise in advance. We have a 1987 Mack Valueliner with 9 speed Mack gearbox. We would like some advice on how to adjust the clutch because at the moment it will only engage when nearly fully up from the floor. We would also like a service or maintenance manual for the truck if any one has one or knows where we can buy one.

Thanks Julianne and Colin

I was told if you give your Vin number to the mack dealer they are supposed to be able to get a copy by Vin number from mack.  Option two contact the mack museum and then look up ebay until someone sells one.

The clutch freeplay for the clutch brake should be adjusted by taking the slack out of the cable/linkage the clutch brake brake should engage about 1 inch from the floor.  The main clutch should be adjusted like other clutches by an a duster on the clutch pack.  Pull the bottom dust cover off and bar the engine over until you see the adjuster than have someone press the clutch pedal down and adjust the clutch until it engages about 3/4 up
