I believe Soros is behind this whole movement. Who is organizing and paying the food and transportation bill to get that many people from southern Central America to the San Diego border??

Exactly, I  agree 100%!

"I think we need immigration laws that focus on people who pose a real threat and I don't think [illegal immigrant] moms and babies are the place that we should be spending our resources. Separating a [illegal immigrant] momma from a baby does not make this country safer."

Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren

I couldn't agree more. They should have been immediately deported.......no resources spent.......end of story.

I will say, most of the time when a child is separated from its parents during deportation is when there is suspicion of whether or not they are actually traveling with a parent.

It’s the idea of stopping human trafficking which is surprisingly common based on what I’ve read, not necessarily them catching human traffickers in this fashion but human trafficking in general. They have apparently caught a few human traffickers thanks to this though, and the way I look at it, if just one more human life is saved then I don’t care about the resources being used.

"I think that anyone who is in a situation where they're in need of healthcare, regardless of whether they are documented or undocumented [a legal or illegal immigrant], we have an obligation to see that they are cared for."

"This idea that undocumented [illegal immigrants] - and by the way a significant portion of undocumented folks [criminals] in our country are there because they've overstayed their visas. It's not people breaking down gates coming across the border."

Chicago Mayor Vows to Shield [Illegal] Migrants From Raids by U.S. Agents

Bloomberg  /  June 21, 2019

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot condemned the Trump administration over planned raids of [illegal] migrant communities and said she had ordered police to cut federal agents’ access to databases related to immigration enforcement activities.

“We are all aware of the threat from President Trump regarding raids by ICE, and in response, Chicago has taken concrete steps to support our [illegal] immigrant communities,” Lightfoot said on Friday, referring to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Lightfoot, who took office in May, said she had told ICE officials that the Chicago Police Department “will not cooperate with or facilitate any ICE enforcement actions.”

“Chicago will always be a welcoming city and a champion for the rights of our [illegal] immigrant and refugee communities,” Lightfoot added.

President Trump has directed ICE agents to conduct a roundup of [illegal] migrant families that have received deportation orders, an operation that is likely to start in large U.S. cities on Sunday.

In a statement on Friday, the agency said that “due to law-enforcement sensitivities and the safety and security of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel, the agency will not offer specific details related to enforcement operations.”

“As always, ICE prioritizes the arrest and removal of unlawfully present [illegal] aliens who pose a threat to national security, public safety and border security,” ICE added in the statement.

U.S. cities brace for immigration raids, say they will not participate

Reuters  /  June 21, 2019

WASHINGTON - U.S. cities expecting to be hit by a wave of immigration raids intended to deport recently arrived families who are in the United States illegally said on Friday they would not cooperate with federal authorities.

In a call with reporters earlier this week, Mark Morgan, the acting director of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said the agency would target for deportation families that have received a removal order from a U.S. immigration court.

The operation is slated to launch on Sunday and is expected to target up to 2,000 [illegal immigrant] families facing deportation orders in as many as 10 U.S. cities, including Houston, Chicago, Miami and Los Angeles.

Chicago’s Mayor Lori Lightfoot said she had terminated ICE’s access to Chicago Police Department (CPD) databases related to federal immigration enforcement activities in response to the threat of raids.

“I have also personally spoken with ICE leadership in Chicago and voiced my strong objection to any such raids. Further, I reiterated that CPD will not cooperate with or facilitate any ICE enforcement actions,” Lightfoot said.

The Los Angeles Police Department said in a series of tweets it would not participate or assist in the immigration enforcement actions.

Houston’s Mayor Sylvester Turner noted in a statement the “rich cultural contributions” of the city’s [illegal] immigrants, and said: “The city does not try to do ICE’s job, nor does it try to impede ICE.”

Morgan said earlier this week that ICE wanted to deport families who had recently arrived illegally in the United States to discourage more Central Americans from arriving.

The number of migrants apprehended crossing the U.S.-Mexico border surged in May to the highest level since 2006.

Separately, the governor of Texas said the state was deploying 1,000 National Guard troops to the border after he said more than 45,000 people were apprehended illegally crossing in the past three weeks.

"Interesting, if you pay to get your brat into college you go to prison.

if you break into the country and bring a bunch of brats with you you all get free college , welfare and an EBT card along with healthcare and a smart phone plus anything else you ask for."

The US government is introducing a new fast-track deportation process that will bypass immigration courts.

Under the new rules, migrants who cannot prove they have been in the US continuously for more than two years can be immediately deported.

Until now, expedited deportations could only be applied to those detained near the border who had been in the US for less than two weeks.

Rights groups say hundreds of thousands of people could be affected. [Non-American illegal immigrants have no "rights" in the U.S. under our Constitution]

The American[?] Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) says it will challenge the policy in court.

The new rule is expected to be implemented with immediate effect after it is published on Tuesday.

Previously, only people detained within 100 miles (160km) of the border who had been in the US for less than two weeks could be deported quickly.

Migrants who were found elsewhere, or who had been in the country for more than two weeks, would need to be processed through the courts and would be entitled to legal representation.

But the new rules state that people can be deported regardless of where in the country they are when they are detained, and without allowing them access to a lawyer.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said the new rules would allow it to pursue large numbers of illegal migrants more efficiently.

So on the US presidential debates last night, Biden was ragged on because Obama deported thousands of illegal immigrants who had no legal basis to be here and he (Biden) did nothing to stop Obama. Go figure.

(According to government data, Obama deported far more illegal immigrants than Trump has to date.)

As soon as word got around that we were giving it all away for free, they want to (illegally) come here by the tens of thousands and live off our tax money.

On the debates, they were also touting decriminalizing border crossing, i.e. promoting open borders.

I want legal immigration according to existing U.S. law. But this.......I don't get it.

Children born to U.S. citizens stationed abroad as government employees or members of the U.S. military will no longer qualify for automatic American citizenship under a policy change unveiled on Wednesday by the Trump administration.

Effective Oct. 29, parents serving overseas in the U.S. armed forces or other agencies of the federal government would need to go through a formal application process seeking U.S. citizenship on their children’s behalf, the policy states.

Currently, children born to U.S. citizens stationed by their government in a foreign country are legally considered to be “residing in the United States,” allowing their parents to simply obtain a certificate showing the children acquired citizenship automatically.

But an 11-page “policy alert” issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) said the agency found the prevailing policy to be at odds with other parts of federal immigration law. Beyond that, the rationale for the policy change remained unclear.

“USCIS is updating its policy regarding children of U.S. government employees and U.S. armed forces members employed or stationed outside the United States to explain that they are not considered to be ‘residing in the United States’ for purposes of acquiring citizenship,” the memorandum said.

The number of government and military personnel affected by the change was not immediately known, but the revised policy sparked immediate consternation on the part of some organizations representing members of the armed forces.

“Military members already have enough to deal with, and the last thing that they should have to do when stationed overseas is go through hoops to ensure their children are U.S. citizens,” said Andy Blevins, executive director of the Modern Military Association of America.

He urged Congress to take action to address the situation to “ensure our military families don’t suffer the consequences of a reckless administration.”

Statement from the Press Secretary Regarding Birth Tourism Visa Regulation Rule Change

Issued on: January 23, 2020

Beginning January 24, 2020, the State Department will no longer issue temporary visitor (B-1/B-2) visas to aliens seeking to enter the United States for “birth tourism” – the practice of traveling to the United States to secure automatic and permanent American citizenship for their children by giving birth on American soil.

This rule change is necessary to enhance public safety, national security, and the integrity of our immigration system.  The birth tourism industry threatens to overburden valuable hospital resources and is rife with criminal activity, as reflected in Federal prosecutions. Closing this glaring immigration loophole will combat these endemic abuses and ultimately protect the United States from the national security risks created by this practice.  It will also defend American taxpayers from having their hard-earned dollars siphoned away to finance the direct and downstream costs associated with birth tourism.  The integrity of American citizenship must be protected.

ICE running facial-recognition searches on millions of [illegal immigrant] Maryland drivers

The Washington Post  /  February 26, 2020

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials have been permitted to run facial-recognition searches on millions of Maryland driver’s license photos without first seeking state or court approval, access that goes far beyond what other states allow and that alarms immigration activists in a state that grants special driver’s licenses to undocumented [illegal] immigrants.

More than 275,000 such licenses have been issued statewide since 2013, when the state became the first on the East Coast to defy federal guidelines and allow undocumented [illegal] immigrants to obtain a license without having to provide proof of legal status. The technology allows ICE to run a photograph of an unknown person through the system and see if any potentially undocumented immigrants are returned as a match.

“It’s a betrayal of [illegal] immigrants’ trust for the state to turn around and let ICE run warrantless searches on their faces,” said Harrison Rudolph, a senior associate at Georgetown University Law School’s Center on Privacy and Technology. “It’s a bait-and-switch. … ICE is using biometric information in the shadows, without government notice or public approval, to hunt down the most vulnerable people.”

The battle to grant driver’s licenses to undocumented [illegal] immigrants spanned more than a decade in Maryland. In 2013, Maryland lawmakers voted to create the licenses despite federal laws requiring proof of immigration status on state-issued identification cards.

The 2013 bill’s sponsor, former state senator Victor R. Ramirez (D-Prince George’s), heralded the change by saying at the time that Maryland would no longer “drive people [illegal immigrants] underground.” Fifteen states issue such licenses.

Maryland does not describe itself as a sanctuary state, which generally means a jurisdiction refuses to cooperate with federal authorities on civil immigration enforcement. But several of its most populous jurisdictions, including Montgomery and Prince George’s counties, and the city of Baltimore, have publicly restricted cooperation with ICE. More than 4 percent of the state’s residents, or approximately 275,000 people, are undocumented [illegal] immigrants.

At today's daily White House press conference, the head of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that ALL illegal immigrants will be stopped and deported, so as to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus.

9 hours ago, TS7 said:

The first good news I heard this week. How many Americans still want open borders?

"We’re also working collaboratively with Canada and Mexico to take decisive joint action regarding individuals seeking entry between our ports of entry.  The CDC order directs the Department to suspend the introduction of all individuals seeking to enter the U.S. without proper travel documentation.  That’s for both the northern and southern border.

The CDC Director has determined that the introduction and spread of the coronavirus and the Department’s Border Patrol stations and detention facilities presents a serious danger to migrants, our frontline agents and officers, and the American people.

So it’s important to note that the Department [of Homeland Security] currently apprehends foreign nationals from over 120 different countries around the world — the vast majority of those having coronavirus cases.  Many of these individuals arrive with little or no identity, travel, or medical documentation, making public health risk determinations all but impossible.

It’s also important to note that the outbreak on our southern border would likely increase the strain on health systems in our border communities, taking away important and lifesaving resources from American citizens.

Tonight — again, at midnight — we will execute the CDC order by immediately returning individuals arriving without documentation to Canada, Mexico, as well as a number of other countries without delay."

.

I would like add one more thing. I hope Americans are finally awaking to the threat that the Communist Chinese are to America. We need to start ending trade with them now. It is not going to be easy and there is going to be a price to be paid, but it has to start now.
