A tad under 1000 miles with my Marmon, Scoop Mobile and a 'Cuda on the trailer home. Pull into the yard and am greeted by my neighbor, wife and son. First word s are "don't get mad, but..." I asked a simple question," can it be fixed or is it totaled?". Well, it turns out I have in the Southwest Corner of my property an homeless camp of about 5 people. After setting up to have the Louisa and Albemarle County Police and the Fork Union code enforcement come over first thing tomorrow at dawn to eject them before I go in and level the camp with my machine. My son came across the camp when him and my dogs were out Turkey hunting . Between my friend and I we have 620 acres and this is the farthest point from both houses. Flew to California and showed up at the front door of a man that tried to hustle me out of a very rare 1941 Chevy reel antenna. Went to the local townhall on Long Island with a roll of cash, walked into an office with 20 or so people applying for building permits and requested the head of the graft department so I can pay my bribe money and get my permits to put new windows in, so the squatters do not realize how lucky they are, for now. tjc transport Posted November 21, 2016 Share Posted November 21, 2016 a few years ago they built a squatters village on town land 30 miles from me. crime went through the roof, and police were there 3-4 times a night due to fights and first aid calls. judge told the town there was nothing they could do, the courts had to decide. by the time the court decided the town had to build the squatters living there houses somewhere else on the towns dime, there were over 300 squatters living in the huts and tents. two days after the court hearing a bulldozer drove through the camp and leveled it, pushing everything into a ravine. the area was then posted private property and ringed with barbed wire. the problem left the area. no one ever found out who owned the dozer or was operating it. 2 Quote when you are up to your armpits in alligators, it is hard to remember you only came in to drain the swamp..
