Question

Hello, looking for some advice on a potential purchase. I pull an rgn and have always ran Pete's but am looking to go to a Mack for the off-road use. One is a 97 w/ all Mack running gear, 18 speed, 454 engine that's been O/H, new bearing roll and more. Concern is 3.55 ratio and year of truck. The other truck is an 06 w/ 460 engine, 18 speed Eaton and 46 Eaton rears, 150 on O/H. Pro's/ Con's would be greatly appreciated. Is the 97 a good year and the 454 engine? Thanks

The ch is a rock solid truck. It's most likely a 3.65 ratio rather than 3.55 if it has mack rears, witch is just a little steep for soft ground. As for the 06 I don't have any personal experience with that year, but I would proceed  with caution.
