I've got a 2001 Mack cx613 that keeps burning out the headlight switch every few weeks. When it happens the headlights continue to work, but the tail lights, marker lights in the hood and center three clearance lights on the roof don't work. Also the dash lights go out too. I change the switch out and it works fine for a couple weeks, then the lights go out again. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to cure this problem once and for all?

same truck here. same problem too.

found that at the connector behind the dash cover, one wire was broken. lites would go out, hit a bump, come back on.

took a while to find it. All I did was just put a connector on that wire, bypassing the big one. no problems

big bundle of wires back there and nothing marked. Just slowly follow that group to the connector from dash

Headlite/marker switch

pull dash cover and follow wires from that switch. at connector(like 16 wires) with switch on, wiggle each wire on both sides. should hear a clicking sound.

check all of them, but prolly one about in the middle. mine was on the wire going OUT from connector

make sure you have the key on

I drove a vision a few years back and my headlight rocker switch would almost seem like it melted internally.      If I remember right there was some kind of upgrade mack did to it and it solved the issue.
