I remember seeing drivers in nice slacks, shirt and jacket and wearing a tye.  And it wasnt the milk man.. drivers kept themselves neat and orderly when i was a kid. But im not old enough to know more than that.

that's the challenge  for us old folk ;; WE ARE OLD ENOUGH TO know more then that.  words can't explain . didn't need to be a shirt and tie ;; it was the positive attitude . I drive every day on I-84 in ct. parts are which are 3-4 lane. there are tractor trailers in 2nd lane going up hill lower then posted speed (65 mph) while 3/4 th lane empty !!! NO ONE CARES .  not patting myself on back ;; BUT  yrs  back couple of disabled trucks  were repaired by stopping and assisting. no $$ just "gettum going'

no way the word hero applies ; it's more about things so different then; in just about every aspect. Family/ friends, even the food we eat!! speaking of proud moments and helping a Friend== passing by a truck I knew well , hood open side of the road. there stood Mr. Moffo Sr. short version =I stopped : cummins no start; as with many things of the day (no computer) a simple turning of pump screw to bypass electrical shut off got things running.  payment = =  a   hand shake and Thank You, from a Man so respected by me.

I stopped for a broke down truck northbound 99 Manteca some of you probably know where that is. This was about 30 years ago young kid just started accelerator spring broke. All I did was Ben the spring a bit . It was still hanging there and hook it back on. The kid was standing there scratching his head. Oh my God you’re a magician it took longer to tilt the nose aaaaaaaaahhhhh the good old days

I have worked in computers since i was 14 or so, loved it then learned to hate it and now refuse to work in it due to the bunch that are imported with their many degrees yet zero knowledge and lots of lies (we all know who im talking about which says a lot now doesnt it)!!.  Got into truck driving but found the companies/owners had no clue about trucks (keep in mind im a petrol head but i was fairly new with trucks at this point and i knew much more then they did) and the unroadworthy garbage they gave me to drive made my skin crawl.  I do my own work and o boy do i get surprises from the "special" so called "mechanics" who previously worked on my truck.  Old saying "Hard times make strong men, strong men make easy times, easy times make weak men, weak men make hard times"...........i was not born soft like most these days.
