My department is currently working on restoring our 1973 Mack CF600 to original when we bought the truck. Does anyone know what beacon light mack typicaly  used for the cab in 1973? This was changed to a lightbar in the past 15 years and nobody can remember what was on it before other than it was a single rotator.

Thanks, Nathan

Nathan:

The first photo shows Nashua, NH Fire Department's 1969 "CF" ladder truck that was delivered with a single 360 degree rotating beacon. The second photo is the standard equipment

listing for "CF" apparatus in a sales brochure The listing only shows a 360 degree red revolving light on top of the cab; it doesn't specify a brand. I guess it was up to the department to specify the

light that it wanted or Mack put on its preferred brand.

I just found the equipment listing for the "CF" Aerialscope and it specifies a Federal #184 360 degree revolving red light on the cab roof. Hope that this helps.

Hello, can you post a photo of the rig. There are a lot of guys out there that take photos and post them on the Internet for our viewing pleasur. You can also contact the Mack Museum to get a copy of the original build sheet which would include what was installed when new. Stupid question but there are no photos of the rig in its original configuration in the station. Most likley was a Federal Beacon Ray or Dietz 211.

I can't find any that show the light clear enough to make out what it is. I found the original build sheet and specs and all they say are "red rotating warning light".  I was thinking it looked like a dietz 211 from the pictures I found so that is probably what we will go with.

Thanks for for all the help.
