2001 was the first year of production. No idea if it shared the R chassis. The MACK name is located in 3 different spots ,top, middle and bottom. I always thought it was for different model years but was never positive.   Paul

Grill name positioning was an option and also depended on weather it had a grill gaurd or not. It was originally built on the RD frame as mentioned before and was only available in set forward axle till 2004/5 if I'm not mistaken. It was not a big seller here because of the front axle loading/spread issues in Ontario.
