Here is a link to some pictures  of mostly 70's era Australian trucks. The KW model designation SAR stood for Short Australian Right hand drive. Mack had an Australian outfit Reinforced Plastic making fiberglass F model cabs and some other companies (Leader??) also used them. International AU and Chrysler AU had a long and interesting relationship, early IH used the Dodge Pilot House cab and later Dodges used the IH A line cab!

Broky, thank you for pointing us to that thread. Plenty of cool looking old rigs.

Those SAR KW's aren't easy to missmatch with any other truck. ERF's look funny and seem being poplular there in those days. And old Aussie R-models are so neat you just hold up your breath for a moment or two looking at them.

Brocky the IH and Chrysler relation ship went a lot further than most realize out here

A lot of Chrysler motors were cast in the IH foundry at Geelong and as such have a IH logo cast into the Chrysler block and no doubt other things as well

Things were a lot different back then in Australia as no doubt it was in the US  as well, before the days of cheap imports the demand was so great for a lot of products that there was waiting lists, Holden the all Australian car had three shifts going just to try and keep up
My the world has changed since then
