wrenching4life Posted October 12, 2017 Share Posted October 12, 2017 Hey all, other than the compressor being worn out, what else would cause oil to come out the air intake on the compressor. It's coming out bad enough that it is oil soaking the air filter to the point it's collapsing. thanks for your help! BGarofalo Posted October 12, 2017 Share Posted October 12, 2017 A lot of guys silicone the compressor flange to the engine instead of using a gasket. If the silicone blocks the oil drain (or restricts) it causes the compressor crankcase to have too much oil in it and will subsequently push oil past the rings. gearhead204 Posted October 12, 2017 Share Posted October 12, 2017 also check the engine draft tube, if its restricted it might do this as well. to eliminate the air cleaner on the compressor you could drill and tap the engine intake crossover pipe and then run a hose from it to the compressor, I have a 92 e-9 and that's how the factory eliminated the air comp. filter.
