Driver said she started knocking and blowing out the blow by.   Went and drug it home,   got the heads and own off still haven't found the obvious problem.   Had to go get a socket to remove the rod caps so surely will figure the damage tomorrow.

No chunks in the own but plenty of different types of shavings.

Open to any tips as first time this deep in a dog . Thx

1.3 on chasis.

No history.   I've put about 20000 on it.   Friend bought it at an auction in Arkansas, decided he didn't want it I bought from him.

The heads looked new when he brought it home.   Had a oil leak on the right side cylinder #3.  Head gasket.

More than likely spun a rod bearing. Personally I would go the exchange engine rout. You get an engine with a year warranty that has new/reman components in it. I would definitely replace the oil cooler and take a close look at the turbo and air compressor.

Yeah just hard to justify dropping 25k in a truck I paid 9k for.

If the crank is bad idk what I'll do tbh.   I like the truck other than the 10 speed,  just re did all the floor in the cab.

Would a 60 series fit in there?

Not many good pull out Mack motors in my area.

No coolant  in the oil or oil in the radiator. Has blow by but some days uses no oil and holds 60 t0 90 lbs oil pressure when tg ed oil us down its 1-2 qt.  Dnot think he cares too good of old truck tk blow I t up know it needs rings

What causes a rod bearing to spin? Besides heat? Just curious.

Excessive idling can result in an oil film that can't support the load needed. Engine lugging can distort the crankcase and/or crankshaft, causing rapid wear the connecting rod and / or the main bearings to name to most common causes

Well got a new to me rod finnally.  Have quite a few hours polishing the crank.  Hopefully tomorrow will throw it in with a new bearing and some plastigauge.

Are the rod and main bolts torque to yield one time use?

Apparently I polished more than I thought.  Standard bearing with .003 to .006 plastigauge on top and bottom barely flattened at all.

Guess ill put the top back together and wait for a .010 over bearing to try.

Well found some good calipers to find my crank is .020 out of round.

Back to square one guess I'll see if anyone in the fort worth area wants the truck as is.
