Posted November 23, 2017 Share Posted November 23, 2017 Guys, A young United States Marine and member of my Volunteer Fire Company was denied a hotel room at the Country Inn and Suites by Carlson in Wilmington, NC earlier tonight. He was told he had to be 21 years old or "have an adult" with him. His father (our Fire Chief) had already paid for the room in advance. He was on the way home from Camp Lejune for Thanksgiving and was due at the airport at 0500 on Thanksgiving morning. He is old enough to enlist in the USMC and potentially give everything for the United States of America but he can't get a hotel room on Thanksgiving Eve while waiting for a flight at the airport. I encourage you all to call the Country Inn and Suites at 910-398-6470 (4706 New Centre Drive, Wilmington NC) and voice some displeasure of the situation. As long as someone has a credit card down and he's 18 I don't see the problem but I'm sure the dorks behind the desk couldn't think in their feet and find a way to help. Next stay for me will be best western, they just bought out and rebuilt a bunch of hotels and built new ones here in eastern mt. Have a happy and safe turkey day Randy.
