James,

Celli had been a Mid-Liner dealer along with having  authorized :mack1:  parts and service. He wanted to be a full-line dealer, but the territory  was already  taken by another dealership. And yes they sold a boatload  of them around  the Chicagoland  area.  Al

They were good for many businesses and pretty dependable. A few areas Long Island had a few small  incorporated villages use  for  highway maintenance units. Worked well and had a good service life til parts got hard to find. .

i still see alot of them in use ,around california....north and south....guess they hold up real well....bob

we had a company here that had 4 MB 400's with Scania engines.they were in the shop more than on the road  and they were only running about 8 miles per round trip 5days aweek 24 hrs a day.if they were the MB 600 with the 673 diesel it would have been a different story.

CHEMICAL Leaman had 4 or 5 MB's at Midland Mi. terminal in the70's and 80's. Mack n/a diesels tandem rears, duplex trans. easy to work on with tilt cabs. Ps dont forget to LATCH THE CAB DOWN when moving from one work bay to another.

That red one that's for sale looks to have a gold bulldog.  Would a Maxidyne have been available in an MB?

The MB-685 with 237 HP Maxidyne power was available from 1969-1978.
