Thanks.  I was able to find a replacement for it.  It took some time, but the chart below may be helpful to someone else.  I used the 229844N for my truck, the yellow was just highlighted on the website I found this.

We usually pull m apart n clean ..... as grit stops the flap from sealing

or if the flap is cracked we cut a new one out of a plastic icecream lid or rubber to suit

That's true! I have a truck maintenance book that belonged to my grandfather in the 50's and it has a ton of details on rebuilding components that people wouldn't even consider these days.
