Afternoon all hope everyone is well. Firstly thank you for adding me to your group. I do have a question that I hope someone can answer. For the old APA trucking company Mack Rmodel tractors is it true that only one twin screw R had the verticle exhaust stack. And all others (single and dual drive) ran the exhaust under the frame? Thank you.

Jerry

I have heard the same thing but can't really confirm the authenticity.  APA had Ford LN's with and without stacks.

Quite a few LTL shippers went with weedburners because it took weight out of the trucks, were less money to buy and kept the nose of the trailers cleaner.

It doesn't cost anything to pay attention.

Thanks Jim. In doing research it seems that a lot of the APA R model pics I have come across were running "non verticle" exhausts.
