Recently acquired a 1961 B42. Would not run. Compression was only at 30 lbs. We have refreshed the engine, new rings, rod and mains, had the block honed, valve done, etc. We can't seem to get the spark correct. The spark looks weak. Have changed the coil and points. Originally truck came with positive ground, it is not now. Could that be a factor? Lost.

Yup, the voices in my head say negative ground vehicles will have a wire between the negative terminal on the coil and the distributor,  A wire from the positive coil terminal will go to the ignition switch.

It doesn't cost anything to pay attention.
