Had a friend call Saturday in need of help. I was not able to help at 5he time but did get pics of the aftermath. Story goes he was using a friends 5 ton am general when the throttle stuck in reverse.  He panicked and threw it into drive. The transfer case must have been the week point. The owner told my friend he is to find parts to fix it. Owner was not happy

The nation is full of army surplus truck dealers, all of which should have new, military rebuilt, or certainly good used.

Is it an M900 A1 or A2 ?

They are in Philly. I bought my M917 and trailer from them. Square people to deal with and will work with you somewhat.  Got to use your oil pump.

Yes it could have. He had just pulled the electrician out and was backing up toward the road when it stuck. He has found one in Ohio for 3k. Thanks for the leads.

The real cause of most of the transfer case issues is the Allison MT654's ridiculously low gear ratio in reverse compounding the engine torque to the point of failure.

This is why you should never use reverse in low range on these trucks.

Why did the the throttle stick?

Did the operator pull the emergency shutoff?

He is a good guy but seems every time he gets near heavy equipment something happens. He runs crane for a living. Dont know why throttle stuck but he panicked cause he was headed across the highway.

Man, that actually looks pretty nasty, that is the least I can say. Did he solve it?! I have never had a similar issue however my dad has been in a similar situation, but I have no idea how he actually solved it. I remember that he was really stressed out as it was not his own truck, the company that he was working for owned that truck and it was a bigger problem. He actually tried to call me, but his phone number was blocked. After that I bought him a number from https://quackr.io/rent-sms-numbers as they are having the best ones and the most secure ones.
