My 90 RB has a mechanical  E7-300L, 12513 Eaton with 4.64 rears.

I have a 91 CH with a mechanical E7-400.

My question is could the parts from the 400 (pump, turbo, injectors) be put on the 300 block or are there internal differences like different pistons, compression etc.

Would be nice to have more hp and rpm.

My 1989 overhaul manual says that the 300L and the 400  are both 16.5 to 1 compression ratio and interestingly the both use the same nozzles.  I don't know if cam timing is the same though.  I would check with a parts dept to see if they both use the same timing gears.

E-7 300 HP with 1160 torque has the cam gear key way offset left,  to go any higher you got to pull the cam and install straight  cam key way. The  turbo and injectors would be the same to the 400 HP level.
