Does anyone have experience with either of these transmissions? I would be using the truck for general on highway use with gross weights ranging from 40 to 80,000 pounds and in the east and Midwest down to Texas and Georgia. How well would they work? I like their simplicity.

I believe they need to be paired with a maxidyne engine, which were engineered during 55 mph national speed limit. So they're great up to their peak speed of 62 mph. I'm assuming I'm talking about the right transmissions. Would help to know more about the truck....

IIRC the 2060 is a 5 speed with a low hole for use with Maxidyne engines. The T306 doesn't have the low hole but the ratios are closer is the top splits, Mack recommended it be matched with the "Maxicruise" engines which had almost as wide a powerband. For on highway use at 80k pounds or less the T306 would probably work fine.
