Am having trouble with wiring up my alternator in my,1982 Mack rw Superliner.  Its a dump truck for which I have no manual.  Anyone have any advice? Am raising this old truck from the dead. Any help appreciated.

Why don't you install either an older Delco 25/26SI, or Leece-Neville/Prestolite 2500JB series instead? There are newer and more modern variants available also but these only require a single wire be run to them and are internally regulated. The truck being a 1982 probably had those models as options if not originally installed.

Those are the ones I use as any more than one wire really cleans my clock; 😉

Would like to keep it all original.been trying to find a free manual online,  am unsuccessful.  I think I find one, then it leads Me to a dead end. Also been working on my two speed.  Once I flip up,  doesn't always flip back down. I have to flip it back up and then it will go down....blew out all the lines. Has new regulator. ??

Being an 82 there should be only 2 wires, the positive goes to the hot side of the starter solenoid and negative grounds to the block.I haven't seen any 350's with 24 volt start and series parallel switches. If so its a different game entirely.

On the 2 speed is this a Fuller Roadranger transmission? If so it sounds like the slave valve is sicking. You can remove it and free it up.It's located on the left side and all the hoses go into it.
