Oct 5, 1951-- Baltimore's very first delivery of corn syrup via tanker truck was delivered to Goetze's Candy Co. located at 3900 East Monument Street.

Yep, Our beloved Caramel Creams need "corn syrup" to be born. Yummy!

I worked in an ice cream plant part time in the 1970s and Amaizo delivered corn syrup to our plant. I can't remember what make of truck they used. We received cream and condensed milk

from NEMPA out of Andover, MA. They used Mack "B" model and Mack "R" model tankers.

Roger Desvergnes wanted to set up his new hauling business, RJD Excavation out of North Smithfield, Rhode Island. He remembered his grandfather used to run Autocar trucks. So naturally, Roger snagged this sweet 1986 Autocar DK64 and >Bingo!< he's at work, picking up the cabbage. 💸💸

Autocar U7144-T 4x4 tractor (military designation G-510)

The U7144-T was a shorter version of the U8144-T pontoon tractor. It was powered by a 529 cubic inch 131 horsepower Hercules model RXC engine paired with a 5-speed transmission and 2-speed transfer case.

(The Federal version  of the "Truck Tractor, 4-5 Ton, 4x4" was designated G-513)

Great article on spec'ing trucks. A key quote: With the wrong vehicle, "productivity will suffer, drivers will be unhappy, and [your] customers will not be served. Proper vehicle specifications are the key to greater productivity."

It's Friday afternoon, are you working this weekend? Hopefully our friend, Mark Velasquez at the City of Loveland, Colorado - Government, will get a well-deserved rest after a hard week's work. #WorkHardPlayHard #AutocarACX

These spiffy new Sidewinders, mounted on Autocar Trucks, are ready to serve the Louisville Metro Public Works Department. Keep an eye out for them if you're in the Louisville, Kentucky area. They're sure hard to miss!

What's the longest wheelbase Autocar you've seen? A good candidate would be this 1982 #AutocarDC with a Galion crane run by Interstate Safety Service in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania.

And if you check out http://dailydieseldose.com/autocar-mondays-interstate-safety-service/, you'll see another sweet Autocar DK and a video.

Keep your eyes on the truck for a minute - we're throwing back to 1980 for a bitchin' Autocar A64HD, with its super-groovy paint job. Also gracing the photo is Suzy, who was actually a manager at the Autocar plant before becoming a top dealer salesperson. #ThrowbackThursday #TBT

For every diesel truck we replace with natural gas, we reduce our diesel fuel by an average of 8,000 gallons per year, along with a reduction of 14 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year! #ThinkWM
