Hi fellow Mack enthusiasts.  This is my first time posting but there seems to be a LOT of knowledge to draw from here.  I have to replace the front left spindle on my 1988 MACK. The dealer wants $3600 for the part!  It's a 12000 front end - I'm curious what years will match my '88 as I go looking for used parts.

Here in our city there is a place that takes new trucks and makes all wheel drive of them and they have new front axles of most of the time from under KW trucks.I bought a 16000 front for 600dollars and put it under my mack. There may be a place close to you that does same.

12000 front end expected to be FA537 Mack axle. The steering knuckles are the same on later version FA538 13500 (or 14000?) axle.

I think the most Mack axles of that rating in a frame of 1985-2000 years would have knuckles (with spindels) of the style you need. Sure checking out the axle # (stampet on the axle beam) would make things smoother.
