Any old IH truck guys here’s?

I have been inflicted with a bug for old IH’s.  Small IH’s to exact.  The grain truck is a 59’ 6 cylinder 4 sp and the yellow one is a 62’ with a V8 and a 4 sp and 4x4.   Yellow had a drill rig on it since new until last weekend.   Let’s see and hear what you guys have out there!

Unfortunately I no longer own any International's but they are my favorite along with the pre-2000's Mack's. I have been trying to find an old Loadstar or something like that yellow one to use as my personal vehicle, but I ended up buying an F550 because I couldn't find anything around here that didn't need a ton of work.

I no longer have any of my old trucks but this one was very special to me.  I was the 3rd owner. It was ordered new by a well known & respected business owner in Allen county, Indiana who later in my life became a good friend. I felt honored to be able to put both of my wreckers in his funeral procession.  The 1st picture of it was when it was nearly new on May 5, 1970. My Mom took the picture and I have kept it and others from that day in an album. The others are after I bought it in 2011. I later sold it to a fella who has antique IH farm tractors & he put a gooseneck bed on it to haul his tractors to shows.

Well.  BMT won't let me upload my other photos of it.  I try in another post.  

Update, I was able to find the photo on the left here on the BMT website and use it.  The interior was nearly as clean as new and the only body issues was the cab corners.

Here's my 57. I think yours is actually a 58 as IH went to stacked headlights in 59. They would title the truck in the year it was sold so, If it was a 59 it was a leftover. If the IH emblem is gold it makes it a 57 (IH golden anniversary 1957)

I had a1200 4x4 stepside 345 v-8 a 65 1/2 ton with a 304 v-8 and a 9 foot stepside and a scout with a 345 v-8 all wheel drive and a 1965 cabover with a 220 10 speed. I guess I like cornbinders.

We owned this for 12 years, had planned to restore it, but sadly we sold it. It was a full import from USA to Australia, delivered new with RHDrive. 1965 R200, full air brakes, Cummins 180 turbo, R/Ranger 10 spd overdrive, single 2 spd diff and Page and Page pusher, original condition except for the paint colour. It was a Mobil tanker prime mover from new. We bought it from KTI, around 1999, the name on the doors, it was a local Adelaide prime mover, that they used for pulling trailers around Adelaide up to when we bought it. After we bought it, our Inter remained in a dry secure shed for 12 years never worked. Sold to a guy up country Victoria who was going to restore it. We have information since. 

I learned to drive trucks in these Inters when I was 11 years old, they were my dad's trucks - picture following next if it will allow me

My Great Grandpa was a IH farm machinery dealer from the 'early 30's until 1950.That's how my Grandpa got started trucking livestock,he would deliver new tractor or whatever with a D series IH,then fold rack up and haul the horses or or cows that were traded back to town.When Grandpa started trucking full time,he always ran gas pwered IH trucks until 1970,when he bought Dad a GMC Crackerbox,then started buying Macks from '72 on,so I have a soft spot for those as well as the Farmall tractors. Currently I have 3 K models,2 L models,2 R190's,a 1600 Loadstar,and a S2575.

Bullheaded that's an oddball that blue truck.  looks like a Loadstar car with an S series hood?? always like old Ih's myself always wanted an Ih pickup to drive around. those things were beasts for pickups

Hey Brad;

Can you use this for any of your IH trucks? These were original to my 1965 R-190 which I've had since 1974.

Never been out of the box I know of in all the years.

The building I'm sitting in at this moment was an IH dealer from 1927 to 1959. I don't have any photos except this one...I wish I had some pics of the trucks that were here.

My first truck was a '72 1210 2wd pickup.  Learned a lot working on it.  It was a ex township road truck(ya, beat to pieces and safety yellow).  345 would not pass a gas station.   Still like the utilitarian look of a IH pickup.  They sure did rust to pieces(like most vehicles of the day).  Mine came with no inner fenders(or hood hinges), floors were vaguely there, though the bed was welded up pretty solid.  I need to dig up the picture I have from 1982?

 

My buddy from jr high grew up with Travelalls.  First was a '66, then a '72.  I have a picture of the '72(green with woodgrain).  He also had a '72 1210 4wd stepside for a short time.  It got burnt up in a garage fire while doing some patch work on it.  It had a 392 with Holley 4bbl.   Sure glad gas was only like $.50/gal back then.

All I know is that is all factory original. I can't even remember what year that truck was. 76 or 78? There were a few around here that looked just like that.

I'll drop it by the shop next time I'm up that way. My son now lives in Wheaton so don't go over on 20 any longer, but I'll chart a path before the holiday visit. I have some other older IH items so I'll look to see if you can use any of them.

Sounds like the truck in the Alan Jackson song Drive!
