Hope that "bugout" works for you, might be no safer than you usual abode as there's one coronavirus case in neighboring Cass county.

Thanks for the warning Maxi. We ARE in Cass county, but my Navionics puts us 188 degrees and 26 nautical miles away from the sniffly mud duck.

God blessed Texas and Minnesota got the Lakes!

if you throw enough garbage at the wall eventually something sticks and you look right. But her record speaks for itself.

The problems we face today exist because the people who work for a living are outnumbered by the people who vote for a living.

The government can only "give" someone what they first take from another.

From some of the maps predicting the spread of the pandemic, some of the safest places might be some remote places like north central Montana. Nice place to live if you're set up for it, At the Costco in Billings I've seen ranchers come into town to sell their cattle, then return with the cattle trailer loaded with enough supplies to last them months!

Quarantine/social distancing random thought for the day.......

Was sitting around fishing and got a text from an unknown source. The person is saying “send me your address ASAP” other people on text send address from ”Pardeeville, WI”. Thought it was a joke, party-ville? They are going back and forth about some coffee pot availability thing. I decided I needed to figure this thing out. Yup, there is a pardeeville, WI.

Ended up on the phone with a guy, businessman, friend I knew 10 years ago. He was in bug out back to Wisconsin, leaving his home in Florida. Said he didn’t want to be in urban Florida when it breaks loose. He had a daughter in Pardeeville. He still had me in his phone and my name is the same as his son-in-law.

Folks are heading to remote areas with no fantastic medical infrastructure. Trying to stay on the outer edges. Can’t blame them, especially if they’re legitimately willing to baton down the hatches. Those apartment structures are nothing but a big’ol cruise ship on concrete. An Air-share-death-fair.

Back in 2012 we had a conex box sent to my factory from Japan. A group of people came out and asked if they could confiscate my shops wheel chocks. I asked why. They said “we’re sending corrugation paper rolls to Japan. They’re experimenting with mass casualties since the 15,000+ deaths from the Tsunami. The heavy-weight paper rolls are a shot at engineering a cardboard casket to use in disasters. The chocks will be used to stabilize the rolls since they’ll have to lay sideways”. You hope to God we don’t get there, but Japan did in one day. Never heard how the story ended on caskets. Not a fan of being chucked in my own 📦 box and laws against a proper funeral. The real horror is if the box rips, and I squirt out,  it’ll be a negative testimony to my life?

Be safe!

My gut tells me we are not being told the full story, the exact truth, about the virus. But certainly the world leaders know.

I imagine truth would be a catalyst for the panic they don't want.

We’re seeing a lot of untouchables getting 🤜💥 touched.

Well so far this isn’t a terribly deadly virus.  Just heard that it’s only around 3% that are infected die. That number would be far lower if we could test more people and get a number on how many people that caught the virus and didn’t get reported as having it. The biggest problem seems to be how highly contagious and fast it spreads which can overwhelm hospitals which means people who need critical care can’t get it which can be deadly.

Well, I don't wanna make light of this serious virus. It is tragic for those suffering. But on a lighter note, instead of hoarding toilet paper like most idiots in this world, I have been hoarding diesel fuel. The old F550 and transfer tank has been busy. While it may be bad for the economy, it is sure nice for my bank account right now.

Both warm climate Singapore and Indonesia are seeing the virus. If that means the warm summer weather in the US will not subdue it, buying us more time for vaccine and drug treatment development, I am extremely concerned.

Again, China beat this by making everyone stay home (compartmentalizing). It works. But other countries have been reluctant to go to that extreme.

Everyone should wear a mask when they're around others, to prevent transmission. I suspect the reason the government oddly proclaimed masks don't help is because of the massive shortage..........they just barely have enough for medical staff. Masks do help, I can tell you.

In the US, people think you must have something if you're wearing a mask. In Asia, they think you're attempting to avoid catching something by wearing a mask.

President Trump reversed himself on Sunday, extending national social-distancing guidelines to April 30 in effort to avoid a major death toll.

The president pointed to modeling that forecast 2.2 million deaths in the U.S. if drastic measures weren't taken. Trump is working to keep the projected death toll below 100,000.

"So if we can hold that down, as we're saying, to 100,000, it's a horrible number, maybe even less, but to 100,000, so we have between 100 and 200,000, we all together have done a very good job," Trump said.

White House health adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci says the US could see up to 200,000 deaths, and millions of infections.

The Detroit Auto Show has been canceled. The venue, COBO center, is being converted into a Coronavirus field hospital.

Many car dealers, after already shuttering showrooms, are now sending the remaining employees home (putting workers on standby unemployment).

It’s going to be hard to keep people inside when we have people like Cuomo politicizing this emergency threatening in the media that he’ll sue the Trump administration because it’s unconstitutional to make him stay home when Trump is talking about shutting down NJ And NY for awhile to get this under control. This stupidity of fighting the president even if what he’s doing is right has got to stop and I hope people remember this come voting season.

I believe that if an adequate supply of masks were available, which isn't the case, that would play a major role in reducing the "spread".

France 24  /  March 20, 2020

Hydroxychloroquine has been used for around 70 years to treat malaria, rheumatic conditions and other ailments. Now its potential use in the fight against coronavirus has become a source of hope for many, following encouraging results from a clinical trial in France on Monday. But experts caution that there is still uncertainty about its effectiveness.

A very old drug is coming back to the fore. The successful testing of hydroxychloroquine for use against the coronavirus in France’s second city Marseille on March 16 created high expectations amid this surging epidemic – especially in light of Donald Trump’s announcement on Thursday that the US Food and Drug Administration has approved its use for this purpose

Didier Raoult, director of a university hospital institute in  Marseille, explained that he had conducted a clinical trial in which he treated 25 Covid-19 patients with hydroxychloroquine. After six days, only 25% of patients who took this drug still had the virus in their body. By contrast, 90% of those who had not taken hydroxychloroquine continued to carry the Covid-19.

In the wake of this announcement, French pharmaceutical giant Sanofi offered to donate millions of Plaquenil (a trade name for hydroxychloroquine) to continue the tests, while the French government’s spokesperson Sibeth Ndiaye hailed the “promising results” and promised to expand clinical trials for this treatment.

It was a Chinese study published on March 9 that first put the spotlight on this anti-malaria drug in the context of the current pandemic. Researchers at the University of Beijing demonstrated its effectiveness in an in vitro trial – that is to say, an experiment on cells in a laboratory.

This drug is regularly touted as a potential solution whenever a new virus appears. One “possibility is that chloroquine may alter the ability of the virus to bind to the outside of a host cell in the first place (which is an essential first step for entry) ”, noted Robin May, a professor of infectious disease at Birmingham University.

Good news. The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has issued an emergency use authorization for the drugs Hydroxychloroquine and Azithromycin to be taken together in treatment of the Coronavirus.

Is that true what someone just told me.....General Motors is the one automaker that refused to retool to make ventilators? If it is I would never buy another GM product. Here's the company that took billions in bailout, then moved most of their production to Mexico after taking your tax dollars. Now they don't want to help the country in return.

The news would indicate they didn't refuse.

The politicians that engineered the GM bailout deceived the American taxpayer, knowing they were never going to be paid back in full.

I don't think China beat anything! It's just what we are being told and they're telling US and they want US to BELIEVE. I DO NOT TRUST COMMUNIST, SOCIALIST, DICTATORS OR TYRANTS! You notice you are not hearing a word of any of this out of Russia. Vladimir must have the antidote, cure or the Russians must be immune? He's doing a good job at keeping it all to himself and he isn't sharing with the rest of the world what's going on in his country. Wonder what's going on in North Korea? They are still shooting off rockets. I guess the virus knows its boundaries and doesn't cross borders. If it did I'm sure Kim Jong-un wouldn't stand for it or allow it to save his people.

The Chinese Regime has a lot to lose in a  populist uprising if it's followers ever figure out what a shi_ sandwich they're all being feed and forced to eat. The United States is still a "Free Society" and it is a balancing act while walking a tight rope under these circumstances to keep it that way. I'm afraid what will become of my country after all this. The freedoms lost or some might be willing to give up as a result for the common good or for a sense of false security. I could go further but biting my lip while holding my tongue.

I'm not "BUGGING OUT". I do not want to be compartmentalized. We have to trust someone, heed the recommendations and use our better judgement for what is best for ourselves, family and community. Who better to trust then yourself to what is right?

I'll bet that after this is all over or while it is still going on there will be some less desirable types taking advantage of the situation wearing masks to prey on the unsuspected hiding their identity while doing dastardly deeds. I don't want to label or call them criminals because it might appear I'm prejudiced. It will leave to police with an already difficult job figuring out who the bad guys are.

Work made some quick changes for the ride through Coronaville. Mostly smart.

We get paid 14 days if/when we get Corona, since we must work via contract, they want to absorb some of the downtime since they held us to staying.

supervisors rotate weeks so if one gets hit the other can jump in. They don’t face-to-face. Down week man works from home.

Work shifts split from normal 8 to 12 hours apart so team position partners never see each other and little overlap.

Corp sacrificed a private jet to fly gypsy grunts to the five other states that we do worker exchanges with during major machine outages.

I contacted Volvo and Liehberr. Both expect partial collapses in the parts distribution system. No next day air right now on VOE Volvo, two days or more on next day is the norm. Not a huge issue......We’ll lose rolling machinery and go full-cannibal mode.

Did you guys see this. Auto parts manufacturing giant Magna International has developed a Puro ozone sanitizing device that may be capable of killing coronavirus.

That’s very interesting Bull. Hope it works and can get distributed quickly.

Puro Ozone - Now all they need to do is figure out how to fit a person in that thing.

I'm not taking the door knobs of my house of steering wheel off my truck. The door knobs might fit but I doubt the steering wheel will.

EDIT: Perhaps the Chinese have figured it out. That's how they beat this. No more virus by eliminating the host carriers.
