I can't answer your question.  Here is a link to the official Commonwealth of PA Health C-19 info so you can see what the state is saying about the situation daily.  It may help give some insight to base decisions for your family.

https://www.health.pa.gov/topics/disease/coronavirus/Pages/Coronavirus.aspx

Jim

It doesn't cost anything to pay attention.

My daughter was invited and accepted to go back to Camp America in PA this coming June for the 2020 season. The camp owners have told and keep emailing all their 2020 staff to keep preparing for a mid June start this year. The regular update information my daughter receives weekly is that the owners are in full preparation mode for June start and to receive all their regular students. And if not mid June by end of June. My daughter has been told to get her US visa organised and she has an appointment at our local US consulate for her visa.
Most of the students that attend this camp have attended since their youngest years, nearly all come from well to do/prominent New York city and surrounds families, attorneys, bankers, business etc. While the children are in camp, their mums and dads are away on holidays. No camp then no holidays for the parents!!!
My point/question is, what information may the camp owners know/have that others don't have access to? And given the same students go back every year, the camp owners would not dare risk the health of these youngsters - consider the potential for multi million law suits for negligence, God forbid if 1 or more students took ill or dies at camp from CV!!!
And this is only 1 camp of many (100's) across USA? Camp America I now appreciate is a big part of the annual summer season for lots of families that can afford these camps.
At this time my daughter believes she will be coming to USA for the 2020 season, especially if she gets her US entry visa, we will soon know better.

The owners don’t know anything more than the rest of us and are just trying to remain in business.

If the camp closes without the government ordering it the owners will not be able to receive hand outs from the government.

I have heard that there are limits on civil liability due to the virus.

In California the school science camp was closed due to the virus and is not issuing refunds but will reschedule when they are allowed to open, just like the concerts. Maybe this camp is planning the same.

Did your daughter have to fill out a health questionnaire?

Are the deposits non refundable?

Are they banking on a large percent of the kids not actually showing up?

I was beating on the doors for FSA info and had 2 emails pop into my box from the Corp and Provider.....

1. The company HR said they will be keeping any unused (AKA-unusable) portion of our medical flex spending accounts unless the government mandates     them not to.

2. The Governement won't be letting you keep your flex money, however you can now buy a thousand dollars worth of aspirin and maxi pads if you want.

CARES Act

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) was recently signed into law. The Act brings an exciting change as it allows over-the-counter (OTC) drugs and medicines without a prescription (Rx) along with menstrual care products purchased on or after January 1, 2020 to be eligible for health savings account (HSA), flexible spending account (FSA), and health reimbursement arrangement (HRA) reimbursement.¹

Have an HSA?

The deadline to file your 2019 taxes and contribute to your 2019 HSA is now July 15, 2020. Please note the maximum annual contributions for 2019 are $3,500 for individuals and $7,000 for families. Starting at age 55, an additional $1,000 is allowed annually.

We hope you find this information helpful as you seek to maximize your health account benefits. As always, we are available any time if you need us.

My daughter is home tomorrow night, I will ask her for latest updates from camp HQ and post back soon.

I can understand they are trying like all of us doing our best to keep our heads up and save our businesses. Fortunately, locally all building and civil works, transport, and food stores are in business. Our concrete plants in Melb and Sydney are operating normally and some plants, supplying new underground railway tunnels are as busy as before the CV shut down. Our construction unions told the govt you are not shutting us down, they said we have our own top notch OHS systems and procedures, to control how workers protect themselves, so far no infections from construction works. A friend has a his machines working in the new Sydney underground railway tunnels and they are working 24/7, his old Macks (V8's) continue to bop bop every day moving their machines. Here is 1.

My other daughter moved to Dublin, Ireland at start of March and all building and civil projects in Ireland are shut - no work.

Our August 2020 Alice Springs National truck show is delayed to 2021, I had a booking with deposit paid at the Big 4 caravan park, they are holding our money to 2021, best solution.

Many people are doing it real tough, the lag damages are unknown and lets keep as best a positive hope.

Maxi pads? Think all 3 of my M917s has them on the Steer axles disc brakes. . .

On the bright side I had an interesting talk with the giant spider in my truck today, pretty cool! He's into web design.     🕷️

The exaggerated Covid numbers are beginning to make more sense now that we are talking about suing China. China's going to wish they didn't try the cover-up maneuver. America has lawyers hanging out every window.  The only one our lawyers haven't sued is God, over our disapproval with hurricanes, but some unknown group may be working on it.

As of today...….

Our county still remains fully exposed and antibody enhanced from our nasty February Covid-19 experience. Our patient zero salesman, who brought back here from China, has been unfriended by the surviving members of his social media circle.

A 55 year old gal I know, who smokes cigs and pot like it's free, told me yesterday that when her husband got it she doubled down on her Elderberry Immune extracts and never showed a single symptom...high five twinkie lady.

Idiot

Well IMO how his ego gets in the way.  He claims he said it with sarcasm.  Unless you have OD'd on Trump Kool Aid big time, only a fool will buy that when you look at all the coverage.  I  think it was a crazy thought, but in any case,  I think most people-at least many of us on this site-recognize he is always an outside of the box thinker-which is a plus IMO.

This would NOT have been an issue  had he simply said the next day....."yes, I said it, and I was raising a thought for the experts to address, what do I know?  I raised it as a question".   Such a response would have ended the discussion.  Instead, in typical Trump fashion he has to bullshit his way out of it -when will he realize everything he says is subject to special attention to add to his list of "Lies".

And speaking of lies, I think every time he uses a statistic in error, the loons add that to the "Lie" list.  Case in point that I clearly remember- a couple of weeks ago he talked about Boeing making their specially modified 747 to  move PPE supplies.  He said.."biggest plane in the world -carries 63,000 lbs".  Duh  I think a 40 year old Herc does 42,000, C-17, 170,000 and a C-5 over 200,000!  Now if Barry O said that, would not have mattered-but Trump-add it to the "lie" list.

And then I have to listen to my wife of 50 years rant and rave about what an idiot he is.  " And you are STILL going to vote for that liar?""

Don’t get too excited Mackey, Trumps an idiot genius with a perfect track record when it comes to his predictions and crack pipe theories. A’course maybe not a direct injection per say, he was referring to sanitizing the lungs(which would be fairly ridiculous too).

He predicted at the start of this thing that the statisticians are off (high) on the deadliness of Corona and he totally nailed it (Media won’t report that). Farce! It’s a hard-hitting vomitless flu virus. It doesn’t spread any differently than any other flu that can inundate an entire nation in a month’s time.

IF.....IF....we DIDN’T have a global flu vaccine functioning against the annual strains of A&B, then the Flu dead would have outnumbered this years Covid dead 3 to 1, possibly 5 to 1. Possible it still will?

Well I got to debate this with a liberal, first liberals are more whacked than I thought, I said that smoking kills 470,000 people  a year yet we do  not outlaw smoking, second hand smoke kills another 40,000, auto accidents 40,000+ per year then cancer from just Tobacco products kill 2+ million  globally per year and I asked where the out rage was or the concern ?? the liberals explained that those deaths are voluntary, it is your right to smoke and kill yourself whereas the Virus is not, so liberals are concerned not so much about life but how you die ? abortion, smoking are of your choosing ? so I responded that if I wish to enter a deli for lunch than it is my choice to take the risk of getting the virus ?  no no because someone would have to serve me and that would expose them, so i said then my server would also have the right to work or not, their choice, no no they be would forced to work ? no, forced work would be slavery, no no employers would endanger worker by allowing them to serve me thus endanger themselves ?? so you can abort, smoke, drink, drive stupid and all these things are ok but you cannot be exposed to virus that may or may not make you ill ???????  we are screwed if these idiots ever run things.

We’ve been there many times...

I jumped the fence in my late 20’s. Having hung with some fairly liberal friends for many years after I still have a conversation soft spot for Libs in-between election years.

If the world and the laws governing nature would submit themselves to the Liberal you’d have a fine little utopia. Never happen, buts it’s fluffy, warm and cuddly.

The nasty side of liberals is their need to transform and assimilate.....

This is a male who thinks he’s a woman, YOU MUST CALL HIM A WOMAN!!! YOU MUST MAKE HIS GAY WEDDING CAKE!!!

You MUST NEVER use these 10 words in public.

I have a victim status, I’m your victim,  YOU MUST APOLOGIZE to me and cower apologetically when I cue you. Give me my SAFE SPACE!

I have evolved past your conservative mind and am therefore the newer, evolved model of the enlightened human species. YOU are holding this world back from attaining utopia and the subsequent end of all human strife and suffering. FEEL MY ❄️ SNOWFLAKE! Wait until I’m in office and i subjugate your primal mind.

The actual end game for a solid liberal, in a perfect world, on its best day, in its finest hour, all stars aligning perfectly.....could never be anything better than hedonism. Count me out. I prefer reality even if it’s not a happy ending.

The Covid reeks of utopian stupidity “even ONE death is too many”. We just ate our own intestines so we wouldn’t feel hungry.

Well I must say that Mills and the Cumberland County board opened my eyes this week. My 60 acres we were putting 100 houses on for disabled vets was cut down by them to 30 for vets and 70 for the poor Somali and Angolan "refugees" that Portland took in or no permits. So here's what they Democrats will get now . . .ZERO TAX income, ZERO on a new rescue truck and ZERO for the town of Gorham. Now the 60 acres will be given to the 1st Russian Baptist Church.

Your getting Virginia brand push-back up in Maine too? 🤦‍♂️

Hope you make an appearance at the board meeting to make sure they (and everybody else in attendance) know 1) that is what IS happening, and more importantly 2) WHY it is happening.

With the virus crap their meeting are live streamed on Zoom so I'll put a few half page ads in the local papers,  a few 30 second spots on the local radio stations and on WMTW the local Southern Maine news channel. Cost wise about 4 or 5 grand for all. Might run a few when their election comes up too. This is the push to far.

Are you enjoying your first taste of socialism? Life in America today is a sneak preview of life in Cuba or Venezuela. Democrats like AOC and Bernie love it. This is the future they plan for you. The current economic catastrophe is exactly what America will look like if we institute the Green New Deal.

The goal is to defeat climate change by killing your job, taking away your car, closing your business and turning America into Cuba or Venezuela.

It's a progressive Democrat's wet dream.

And isn't it great? You don't need to go to work. Money magically appears in your bank account. Hopefully, you can live on $1,200 every six weeks for the rest of your life.

You get to spend long days watching daytime talk shows and movies on Netflix -- you know, the things Democrats call a "typical day" for their voters.

And think of the money you can save on gas by not going anywhere. Soon all those nasty, polluting, carbon-emitting vehicles will be just a memory of the past. How wonderful will it be to have time to "just think" as you wait hours for those new energy-efficient buses and subways?

And, with all those nasty "nonessential" businesses closed, you'll have plenty of time to converse with your neighbors as you wait in line to see if anything is available for you to buy. It's socialist nirvana.

So, please be honest with me: Are you enjoying your small taste of life in a socialist country? Are all these great benefits of socialism what you expected? You know, being told the business you spent your life building is nonessential and being forced to close; being stuck at home and not allowed to hold a job; having only the money your benevolent government decides you need; waiting in long supermarket lines only to see empty shelves; finding out toilet paper is now a valuable commodity; being told where you're allowed to go; being banned (in some states such as Michigan) from traveling to your second home; not being allowed to go to church; and having all your movements monitored and recorded.

Having fun yet? Welcome to a test drive of socialist America.

Democrats are just getting started. Soon they'll tell you whether you're allowed to enjoy yourself anymore. No more golf, bars, nightclubs, spas, movie theaters, bowling alleys. Oh, wait, that's already happened.

But of course, marijuana stores are open. They're "essential." This is what Democrats like Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have been pushing for years. This is their wet dream.

In a truly socialist country, it is much worse. In a truly socialist country, your internet is tightly monitored; television is controlled by government; and all media is propaganda -- even a step worse than it is in America today. Although, The New York Times, The Washington Post, ABC, NBC, CBS, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube are all trying hard to give socialist banana republics a run for their money. In a socialist country, as envisioned by today's Democratic Party, you will not have a car. Those will be reserved for party bosses like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Chuck Schumer and AOC. You will have to work in a state-assigned job. Doctors and janitors will make the same salary.

There will be huge "advantages," according to the socialists of the Democratic Party. Stores will be much smaller. And with the closure of all those greedy corporations, buying decisions will be much less confusing. The shelves will be empty anyway, so who will need all that space?

And, to achieve a small carbon footprint, you will live in a tiny apartment and travel to work only on public transportation. But isn't that precisely why New York City is the worst coronavirus-infected area in the country? Half the country's dead are in one city. Oops, liberals forgot to mention that little problem.

And toilet paper? There will never again be a shortage. The soft kind will only go to socialist politicians and government bureaucrats. The rest of us will do our part to save the planet by using biodegradable corn husks.  BUT WAIT!!THERE'S MORE!

I've saved the best for last. One hundred and ten percent of you will vote -- just like in many cities in the past few elections. There will always be more votes than registered voters. That's the way socialists like it. And, your ballot will show up in the mail. Don't worry if you don't receive it. The person sent by the government to pick it up will have extras. He or she will even help you fill it out. In a couple of years, it will get even easier, as there will be only one box to check.

So, does your brief experience with socialism make you want to live like this always? As for me, if the choice is to be locked in my home, close my business and wait for the government to save me, or to face the remote risk of death from the coronavirus and keep living my life and earning a living for my family ... I'll risk my life and choose freedom every time.

We are a nation of risk takers. We don't run and hide. We face danger and live life. That's what made America the most exceptional nation and people in world history.

If you don't like this test drive of socialism, I suggest we all start making our voices heard. Repeat after me: "OPEN THE ECONOMY. OPEN THE ECONOMY. OPEN THE ECONOMY."

Very good Paul.     And along this line, the WSJ on Saturday covered an interview they  conducted with Dr. John Ioannidis.  He basically shoots holes in so many  of the statistics that forecast gloom and doom and I think puts things in the right perspective.  He is a professor at Stanford School of Medicine and in addition to being a medical guy, he understands statistics.   One thing I never forgot from school...a tongue in cheek definition for  "Statistics 101"...."How to Lie With Numbers".

This guy IMO understands the medical issues, but also what constitutes valid statistical assumptions.  Google him.  One thing that pops up is an interview Mark Levin had with him.

I saw him on Levin (enjoy all his shows along with Trucker Carlson) and the Immunologists from John Hopkins and the pair from the Mayo Clinic all along the lines of it is no longer medical it is just control and staying in the lime light.

Va Governor says 3 years  in "phase 1" to start to open the state and they need to study what businesses they feel are non essential. I do sea walls, break waters and diversions for bridge abutments. Va says it is a non essential business. So two weeks ago when a small 5 ton max bridge had  minor erosion that the town engineers said could be fixes with a dozen stone baskets. State police said I was none essential and was not allowed to do it. The engineer closed the bridge and the 3 families on the road now have a 26mile round trip. Fire, EMT and Police also have a long ride on a narrow country lane.  Just about power not common sense IMO.

Free market economist Frederick Hayek held forth that socialistic economic planning, regulation, and intervention pave the way to totalitarianism by building a power structure that will inevitably be seized by the most power-hungry and unscrupulous. Hayek is quick to point out that emergencies have always been the pretext on which the safeguards of individual liberties have been taken away. It is a very short and slippery slope to an authoritarian dictatorship. The USSR, and Nazi Germany labeled themselves as socialist governments. Venezuela has been transformed from a democracy to a socialist dictatorship within a decade. Cuba, China, and North Korea would label their forms of government as communist, but in the truest sense of the word they are simply socialist dictatorships.   Socialism is simply the government control and administration of all means of production and distribution of goods—the economy. Accordingly, this is what gives these types of governments such ultimate dictatorial power and control.

Our COVID-19 crisis is giving to citizens of the United States a chance to taste the Democrat power and control of socialist authoritarianism prior to our upcoming election. In the past two months our federal and state governments have basically shut down the economy ostensibly to save lives. Only the most essential components of the economy have been kept open. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi twiddled her thumbs, doing woke appearances on CNN and MSNBC for a week before she allowed the bill funding small businesses to come before a House vote. Shut down orders have been given in 42 of the 50 states. Stay-at-home or social distancing orders have become our new national norm. President Trump, recognizing the irreparable economic harm these draconian efforts are having, provided a three-step re-opening plan for our economy long before the pandemic is over. The role of monitoring of progress has been given to the governors of each state—Federalism at its very best.

By using this method, President Trump has allowed the governors and local elected officials to show their true stripes to their citizens. The results are socialistically disheartening. The WSJ opines that in case readers didn’t already know, today’s progressives lack even a minimal understanding of how business and the economy work. Why would you when you are convinced that the state is the best way to run our economy? Other proposals from New York City are that businesses must retain all employees unless they have a just cause in order to survive, or businesses having to pay each hourly worker a $40-$75 premium per shift, or even better, the City Council’s invitation to tenants to stop paying rent entirely. Ah, free everything!

We must remember exactly what the Democrats have shown us, and what other ambitions they profess, when we go to the polls on November 3rd. In response, Democrat government officials are demonstrating their attraction to the siren call of totalitarianism and how close at least some sections of our nation may actually be to socialism. Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, with a firm grip on her state’s people and economy, is conspicuously reluctant to release her control of the local and state economies. In fact, she has taken actions that might be more commonplace in Cuba or Venezuela. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is incentivizing citizens to “snitch" on neighbors who violate his stringent limits on group gathering sizes. Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti announced he would “hunt down” citizens not in compliance with his strict shut-down diktats. Stratford, Connecticut Mayor Laura Hoydick said last week that social distance violators in her town could face a fine of $100; the state’s governor has joined in the totalitarian response by indicating the state will also use surveillance technology for rule compliance.

Avowed socialist AOC is encouraging American workers to strike during this Covid-19 shutdown and not go back to work until the totalitarian left’s green agenda is adopted.

All of these actions should give the American public a taste of what socialism might look like in America. The tearing down of the greatest free enterprise economy and personal liberties existing in today’s world will all be part and parcel of the Democrat new socialist agenda. All American citizens should remember George Orwell’s reminder in his novel about the totalitarian state, 1984: "Power is in tearing human minds to pieces and putting them together again in new shapes of your own choosing.” Giving Americans a socialist incentive not to work by virtue of its juiced-up unemployment benefits, our federal and local governments are stripping away any semblance of capitalism.

While we are still locked down and locked in, it would be valuable for freedom-loving Americans to do two important things. First, get a copy of George Orwell’s 1984 and read it carefully. Second, remember how your federal, state and local representatives have treated your personal liberties during this COVID-19 pandemic. Vote in the 2020 Election and never, ever forget, the Democrats are intent on dumping the liberty and free enterprise system we currently enjoy, and replacing them with a socialistic society.
