It means that it wasn't a completely brand new manufactured truck.Glider kits were a new cab,frame and front axle.The idea behind them was that it was a way to rebuild wrecks or update an older truck,by using the still usable engine,trans.,and rear axle & suspension.For awhile,Mack even offered powered glider kits.These were new cab,frame,and front axle,with a factory reman engine installed,you just had to put in the trans. and rears.
