So if I’m reading this correct you are ready to nominate this guy for president with out knowing anything about him other than he can b.s. his way through some press conferences.  I’m gonna go out on a limb and say we are drastically different when it comes to politics.

Im from NJ so I get a front row seat to these Democrat governors trampling on our rights.

Yes, at face value (most of us have never known a major political figure personally), I'm impressed with how he carries himself at the New York state press releases, particularly with the questions and answers.

The heat won’t help this go away. Read an article about it some time ago that it was 85 plus Fahrenheit in wuhan when this broke out.

I have some experience with this. Using December 31 as a reference point, when the Wuhan hospitals began treating cases, it's far colder than 85 degrees F there.

On that day, the high was 45 and the low 36.

Does anyone have a link on Cuomo having 100,000 ventilators in a warehouse? Fake news?

I only see there are an estimated 100,000 units nationwide..................https://www.marketwatch.com/story/soaring-demand-for-ventilators-creates-political-tension-promises-to-ramp-up-manufacturing-2020-03-25

Beyond that, I'm not from New York and thus have never paid attention to him. But his performance in these press meetings by any stretch is impressive.

I get the anti-abortion stance of some. I'm not up on Cuomo's stance.....on anything. My thought is, if a couple of teenagers or college kids mistakenly test their equipment without protection, and obviously in cases of rape, an early term abortion is acceptable.

Quarantines preventing inter-state travel by the masses, excluding trucking, could become a necessity.

The reason China was able to kick this is because they could order people to stay home (aside from essential food shopping) with immediate effect, prohibiting intra-city and inter-province travel.

I'm hoping warmer weather, I heard 77 degrees F, has a positive effect. That would buy time for the developments of vaccines and more medicines for treatment, assuming worst case scenario it would return next winter. SARS, for example, for whatever reason, never returned.

Otherwise, as extremely contagious as it appears to be, many states might be 2 or more months away from peaking. There's a limit to how long our national economy can take a beating. Any longer and a recovery will take considerable time.

It's still a human life being taken.

This is a tough subject. Obviously I respect your thoughts, your ethics, morals and values.

If my daughter was raped (heaven forbid), I would support her choice for an early termination. We'd rather she gave birth to a child fathered by her chosen husband.

I listened to a portion of his speech today and  he admitted to working on obtaining a stockpile of ventilators for the predicted need in about three weeks. He has requested those along with other needed PPE. My opinion is that the federal government blew this one and should be the ones to stockpile and distribute items as needed, instead of every state, hospital, and the feds bidding for the same items. The feds could/should make the purchases because of their buying power. He stated that before the virus ventilators were 20K. With all of the needs they are now 50K. He has asked for ANY medical personnel to respond to NY for the upcoming height of illnesses. He also said that NY would respond in kind as after the crisis is done in NY, it will move to another area that will need additional resourses. NY has one hospital ship at this time, not two.

He also explained about the health systems in NY, and that they all met today to form a group that would share needed items, beds, Etc. He had some of the leaders from the systems with him to answer questions. They will be attempting to spread out the very ill so that no one hospital gets swapped. He spoke about this being a difficult time for NY and that other areas will eventually be hit and will need support.

I think he and many other govenors have done an exceptional job dealing with a slow response from the federal government. I also like John Bell Edwards from Louisiana. He has shown great leadership in several situations in his state, and is warning of the upcoming spread in his state.

in my opinion Trump really did not act in time, and continues to make incorrect/differing statements than his team of doctors and specialist. In the beggining it was a hoax and something that the democrats were using to take him down.  He seems to finally be taking the advise from his team. Unfortunatly every press conference is about what a great job he is doing and making incorrect statements.

I find that even in this time of a national emergency, where anyone of us could/will be inpacted, there are so many comments about the "Democrats". The democrats fought for additional money to be given to the citizens, and that all of the money needed to be tracked and accounted for. WE are all in this together and this should make us stronger and more united. Some don't like Cuomo because of his stance on firearms, but we don't know his experiences and why he has that opinion. I think gun ownership is a privilage and most owners I know are very responsible. I also know folks that have assault weapons and they have never been able, in my opinion, to justify having them. After all, no one wants to be told what they can or cannot do. Those folks with the large amounts of weapons have their reasons, and experiences. So I can't tell them what to think or do. I also don't agree with the Pro-Life folks on banning abortion for the same reason. Who am I to tell someone what they can or cannot do. I have to be consistent in my expectations of others. I believe that God is the only being that should judge us.

And I am a proud Democrat. I don't always agree with what the party does, but I feel that they are about taking care of people, while the Republicans are about helping business. Our country needs to have a strong middle class, and that will in turn help businesses. Just my two cents.

Any guesses on who Biden’s VP pick is going to be when this blows over? They’ll have to use Coumo, Uncle Joe’s becoming a Wallflower, which means CNN, MSNBC are going to keep laying wreaths of flowers 💐 at Cuomo’s feet and dumping on Trump.

Most of the conferences I have listened to, he uses the word "we" to describe what is being done.  So are you saying that when he uses the word "we" that he is actually saying "me/I"?

Well let me say I'm very sensitive to the use of "first person".  In my career I was always very careful to be inclusive unless the shit hit the fan and then it was "my" problem.  I will have to say he has been somewhat better in his attempts to be inclusive and in fact has done a good job of deflecting some of his "fake news" detractors during his press conferences by saying his "team is disrespected...you are not insulting me, you are insulting all the great people in back of me that are making this  happen"... or words to that effect.  But he still makes statements that are too easily refuted.  Like ..."I love Michigan, the auto industry is back there building plants"...again  I'm paraphrasing but did  he not just say that within the last two days when he took a shot at Michigan's "make up queen " governor?  (that make you feel better😎).  How many new plants has the auto industry built in Michigan of late- and please don't count Jim Hackett's "train station"!

I agree every thing you said about Barry O.  When I  heard him make the keynote speech at the Dem's convention in 2004 I had never heard of him, but I said.."this guy could talk a cat off a fish wagon".  And he did for 8 years so we are on the same page in that respect.

I voted for Trump and it looks like I will have to vote for him again.  But again, IMO he takes too many liberties with the truth and in doing so plays into the dems hand.

A lot of good people have  gone by the wayside because they could not take his arrogance and refusal to listen.  Let's hope he has learned his lesson and the likes of Fauci and others don't say..."done with this crap".

I also don't fault him for his at times over optimistic views as I say he has a fine line to walk between creating despair and being overly optimistic.

Let's face it, for a guy who was given a million bucks as a grub stake by his father, and who operated in the big apple where connections are everything, he did okay.  But unlike your grandfather  that you previously talked about- or my grandparents who got off the boat from Tuscany, he did have a bit of a head start.

Oh and do YOU think Rex Tillerson is  "dumb as a rock"?   If so Trump in all of his wisdom should have immediately determined that and never have hired him.

Please don't confuse someone who is good in front of the teleprompter as someone who is an effective leader.  Obama is/was one of the best public speakers that our country has ever seen.  His domestic policies and foreign policy was awful.  Obama care was a bust.  Keep your doctor and save $2,000+ per year.  More like lose your doctor and see your healthcare costs go through the roof.  He handled Putin, Kim Jung and Assad with kid gloves and look where that got us.  There was another great speech giver from Germany in the 1930's and 1940's that almost brought the world to its knees and ended the lives of millions of innocent souls.  The democrats adding pork to the stimulus bill and then saying that the President wasn't responding to the healthcare crisis is a typical smoke in mirrors tactic that they use.  Trump referring to Cvd-19 situation as the "democrats next hoax" was contextually connected to Russia, the Mueller report, the garbage with his former attorney Michael Cohen, as well as the fake dossier, Comey, McCabe, Lisa Page, etc.  So the democrats were using Cvd-19 as their next version of what to pin on him.  Its not working.  His response has been praised by Cuomo himself.  Even Ilhan Omar says his response have been terrific.  Fact of the matter is that the US has never seen something like this before and to blame anyone directly would be irresponsible.  Remember, the left said George W. Bush let down Louisiana after Katrina.  Fact of the matter is that he begged for areas to be evacuated and offered to take over law enforcement and government officials were slow to act and declined to let the feds help with law enforcement.  Smoke in mirrors pointed the finger at him when the response from local government was anemic at first.  Now lets look at welfare reform.  The left likes to say that Bill Clinton was its champion.  Farthest thing from the truth.  The republican controlled house and senate put the welfare reform bill on his desk and they had to twist his arm to get him to sign it.  Plenty of good and plenty of bad on both sides of the isle.  The left just likes to point fingers and mix up the facts using their bench team, the media, to do their dirty work.

Nailed it.

Before this thread runs completely off the rails on hot button issues lets just get back to the original topic.

Emperor Cuomo has been running this state into the ground with only his own personal agenda in mind from the start.  As did his father before him.  This is just positive press exposure for him and he's going to play it for all its worth.

I'll add his late night  legislation  to pass hot button bills like his Laws protecting illegals, his law that people arrested for violent crimes have to be given the names and address of the witnesses against them "so their legal teams can interview them" Safe Act (which under it my Lever action saddle gun is considered and assault rifle but my Calico 9mm rifle with 50 round mag isn't)  Don't forget his father turning LILCO into a state run utility called the Long Island Power Authority, which kept rates down, than Andrew  under the guise of them being over prepared (?) for Hurricane Irene  disbanded the LI Power Authority and awards the service to PSEG whom him and his girl friend own 30% of the companies stock. Cuomo said the rates were frozen for 3 years. Well every month our bill increased by 5% to 8% because of increased fuel costs. When the fuel costs dropped for over 6 months our 5 to 8% increases still came every month. Andrew stated that would off set any future fuel costs. 10 years later my bills still increase. We have a 6 Billion debit on Shoreham  Nuclear plant that never opened and after 30 years was 90% paid off. Andrew had gotten loans against it to finance  PSEG's system up grades. Can't get the TSA quick pass because Andrew will not allow the Feds to access DMV records for verification "because it may harm the undocumented citizens. Releases criminals who can't afford bail, makes crimes that involve a weapon but it is  not used  not being detainable but they are given a court appearance ticket  Having lived under Mario and Andrews reign what his election would do to the country is beyond scary.  But since Bloomberg supports him.  If KS lived under his governorship he would not be so impressed by him.
