A cup, you simply "tighten the lid" a bit occassionally to pump more grease into part? I think that would be fine, plus it would look original. I'm not sure a zerk would be much better?

Kinda like a zerk. Fill the cup, give it a twist to force grease into bearings and let it go. On occasion, give cap a twist to force more.

I guess you don't know exactly how much is getting in, guess you have to go on WAG method?

After I had my generator rebuilt I filled both cups twice, on the seconed try I could feel a little back pressure.

I was not sure if that was how it's done,Hope it was enough.

I got the water pump apart today, Took most of the day just to get it apart and cleaned, looks like it will work as is. at least for now. I should get it all back togather, painted and back on the engine Friday. I took a few pictures, I will post them later tonight or in the AM.

It's good to be making progress on the truck again!
