Hello All

I have a 1987 Mack Midliner in Brisbane Australia and am doing it up as a toy carrier with beavertail deck and 5 ton behind the cab crane.

The old girl runs like a dream but upon arriving home after the pick-up delivery run I find I can not get low/reverse. (Stupidly did not try it on the test drive around the seller's field) It sat for 2 years before I bought it for the 15 mile run. It has the Renault B9 4+4 gearbox which I found really sweet to drive with smooth easy changes.

The stick goes right over into the gate (checked on the selector rod on the box to see it was right across to eliminate sloppy stick linkages). There it stays in Neutral and will not go forward or back to select L/R. Feels like it is coming up against something solid in the box. Slipping clutch to help any misaligned gears slip in makes no difference.

I can not find an exploded parts diagram to help me diagnose the fault.

Anybody got a lead on a parts or fault finding diagram or likely causes.

Lang
