I think it was more of a "one off" myself. I believer I seen the truck back in 1982 in central Illinois at a truck stop fueling. It was pulling a refrigerated van IIRC but that's been quite some time ago.

Fun is what they fine you for!

My name is Bob Buckman sir,. . . and I hate truckers.

Actually the truck in the picture was the 2nd generation Superliner with older hood installed. So my guess is the doors went off the same early truck as the hood. Funny if there was the only unit painted that way and its hood ended up on this truck.

I have a feeling that the truck in the original post was a single drive. I'm sure I've seen another picture of it somewhere. Also look closely at the stripes on the Superliner 2. Not quite the same because the downward sweep starts a few inches further back.

Didn’t really notice till now, but it definitely looks like the nose doesn’t go with the  doors… seems they should’ve continued the site stripes straight across and yes, super liner did offer a lot of cool paint schemes.. here is a go. There was a company in my area called JR, Souza, and sons. They had some really nice ones delivering BP gasoline bob
