Its a 1976 RL685 with a 9 yard Challenge Cook Mixer, I work it 2 to 4 days a week and love my truck. Last week it broke the rt front main leaf spring and I cant find one anywhere. Its a 20,000 lb front axle 11 leafs 3.5" wide,  Triangle Part # 62-734.  I might have to send it to the scrap yard if I cant find or get one made

Dunno were you live but most major cities should have a spring place that can roll you up a fresh leaf to suit I would of though

Or just take a tape measure and wander around local truck wreckers to find something close enough

Remove spring

'V' out the broken leaf with a grinder

weld er up

grind off smooth so Mr law man can't see its bin welded

n assemble back up

then go back to work

we have bin weld n leaves for over 50 years

YES they do brake again  .... but ina intirelly different place

You know he’s just kidding with ya right..🤔😂

Not Kidding

it looks like the main leaf the one with the eye to take the pin is the leaf below the broken one

the top leaf only goes for the ride

In the Kenworth manual it sez U can weld springs

but also advizes that if it brakes often ...... time to look for a new spring

I've welded up spring leaves in the past myself on older trucks. Never really had problems with doing it although it is easy to purchase a single replacement leaf to install, (unless special). I've always replaced the center bolt while the spring is apart.

Any local truck spring shop should fix that up easily.

I had a broken top leaf on my B model.  They bent it for the eyelet and presto-chango I was back in business.  They rebolted all the clamps too.  Its just a "width, length and thickness" thing.

I have had spring shops make single leaves many times over the years.  Not a big deal.  If one of the shorter ones breaks, and runs for any time at all, I think it is a good idea to replace the adjacent ones while you're at it, so as to avoid the inevitable failure of those due to the gouge the broken one puts into them.
