Looked at Rochester but if I can just update the programming it seems like a safer route. Is the "used ECM" still the way to go? 880joe Posted November 6, 2021 Share Posted November 6, 2021 The 460 Should still be available from mack but will have to send into mack and get approval from them and pay for horsepower upgrade and most people say the 427 runs better than the 460 it has a flatter torque curve. ckstreetman Posted November 6, 2021 Author Share Posted November 6, 2021 See, the 427's torque starts dropping off around 1200 rpms though and the HP starts dropping off around 1500. Just seems, it'd be better to pull all the way through the range instead of topping out. TBH, looking at the graphs that were buried back in the threads, the 427's torque curve isn't flatter by much and there's only about 100 LB-FT between the 460 and 460XT.
