i remember that story. it was kept in service as a backup unit only because it was the only rig that would fit into the building. 

when you are up to your armpits in alligators,

it is hard to remember you only came in to drain the swamp..

Not true....The rig was a front line, in-service piece in the town of Woodsboro, Maryland about 60 miles to the north of the Pentagon. Folklore has it that an Arlington County career firefighter who lived in Woodsboro and knew about the small B-Model and suspected it could navigate the tunnels, and special called for them to respond.

yea, after reading the linked article i tried finding the one i remembered reading, but could not find it.

Sorry about the link. It was a picture and story of a, you guessed it, an MB. Chicago F.D. ladder truck with a tiller at the International Harvester Company fire.     Hippy......

Now I'm curious about the IHC fire and the MB ladder!  Tell us more or work on finding a way to share the link.  Mack & Fire friends want to know especially with IHC's history in my home town of Ft Wayne, IN.
