Its a farm truck so It doesn't get much attention but it always starts when we need it too, and it's the truck I first cut my teeth on. I think it's the last year for the 1693 engine too. The parts are painted gold for a reason and more importantly there's no one who knows how to work on them. Especially with the over head cam valve adjustment. I don't see him as often as I used to and get to chat with him even less. This pic was taken from the Auburn Showtime but the truck still looks the same although it's been updated mechanically several more times. The Loadstar is one that we'd pull out when we were running corn real hard and the 2 semi's couldn't quite keep up or when we would transfer corn from the big bins to the smaller bins we had around the various farms. 6 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
William Nix Posted April 10, 2022 Share Posted April 10, 2022 My dad drove one for a oil company out of Oklahoma. His was blue with white strips. 1693 Cat with a 20 speed Spicer and 4:10 gears. It always sounded like a bucket of rocks rattling. But he put over 1,000,000. Miles on it before the company replaced eith a R600 Mack with a 3406A Cat. Lots of good memories to remember. Thank you!
