Maybe put a O2 censor in the exhaust when you get it all back together to see how it is running

Gotta remember these are big pistons compared to a car so when she pings its gunna be huge

So timing would be critical as would mixture

That's what I'm thinking.  The broken rings may have been a secondary symptom.  Melting pistons points to a combination of too much timing and too lean a mixture.  There's nothing like having Wiseco dripping out of the exhaust pipe!  Sounds like he has a plan for the next go-round though!

updates are always a positive. one thing i've noticed  on this site is with so much helpful information being shared ; rarely see updated messages  letting the responders  know  results of their help.
