Hey, in my opinion, if it looks the way you want it to look, it IS the right color...whether it's original or not.

if your trying for a factory reproduction , i'd be concerned. that green with tint of metallic will make the cab stand out nice. unless of course your repairing and attempting to blend .

I’m think Mack used more than one shade of green.  I can’t prove it. Most likely more than a single brand of paint too, which would make for a slight difference in what is considered the same color .  Comments?

It's been said on BMT that Mack bought so many gallons (prolly in drums) of green paint and if a guy didn't mix it as well as another guy, that would affect the color. Back then everything was done by hand so there would have to be some difference between trucks in how much paint the guy sprayed.

I had local supplier scan my glovebox door 20 yrs ago.  I painted my heater and it matched well.  Seems it came back as a Volvo code at the time.  That little pint can is long gone now.

I agree, I think there were plenty of shade variations back then and many people think theirs is the right one.

I would believe it. I’ve seen quite a few shade variations on original trucks over the years. I think the bottom line is if it’s what you like and is within your budget, then go for it. It’s your truck and efforts, make it how you want it and enjoy it.

Yes there’s lots of stuff out there that looks like what you want I am changing the color of my interior to match the nice brown steering wheel  I got I am just going to pick something that looks rite… bob

Oh by the way bud don’t get me wrong if that’s what you want go for it we’re just simply stating nobody is going to notice and you might be able to do a little better on price…. Bob
